Hi, I'm Andrew

This is me, making my escape......
48 years old, fifteen years running a grounds maintenance business. Cutting grass in summer, gardening and cutting hedges in winter.
Before that I was in landscaping, building and construction, and I'm a trained mechanic.

I've had enough, I want out, been chasing my tail too long.
I've lived abroad in the past, and want to leave the country on a more permanent basis.
So, I’m building an income that lives on a laptop, not in a van.
I'll still be working for the next 12 months, still cutting grass next season, but now I'm working towards establishing an online income.

When I start generating a reasonable income, and prove to myself that its possible, I'll quit, and move abroad.
Most likely South-east Asia first, then wherever feels right.

Posting the real steps here as they happen: what I try, what works, what doesn’t.
Most of the loud “digital nomad” stuff is aimed at twenty-somethings, and the backpacker crowd who can live on fresh air.
I've done that in the past, saved enough money to travel, then come back and worked.
I can't do that anymore, I want a more sustainable solution.

This is for the 45–55-year-olds, outside of the typical online crowd, who didn't grow up with the internet, looking to make long term, positive life changes.
If that’s you, you’re in the right place.
